Raymond J. Klein is a retired high school mathematics teacher and athletic coach from Glenbard West H.S. in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago; he taught all levels of high school mathematics from 1972 through 2006. Raymond received an undergraduate degree in mathematics from the University of Notre Dame and a graduate degree in mathematics education from the University of Chicago. He is active in professional organizations (National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics, Metropolitan Mathematics Club of Chicago, and Council of Presidential Awardees in Mathematics) and has presented at over 400 conferences and workshops at the local, state, national, and international level. Raymond was the recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching for the state of Illinois in 1998 and was a recipient of the Radio Shack National Teacher Award in 2001. In 2018, he was awarded the T3 (Teachers Teaching with Technology) Leadership Award. In 2020, he received the Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics Max Beberman Award in recognition of his leadership and excellence in mathematics teachers education. He has published several articles for professional magazines and has written three handbooks for teachers on implementing technology into the teaching of mathematics. Raymond is a co-author of the 3rd Edition of the UCSMP Geometry textbook. He has been a T3 National Instructor since 1995, specializing in the field of dynamic geometry. He was a charter member and President of the Board of Directors of MEECAS (Mathematics Educators Exploring Computer Algebra Systems).
