Nominees and their guests (when invited) should plan to wear traditional business attire for most events. These include The White House Executive Office breakfast and the congressional breakfast. Semi-formal evening attire is strongly recommended for the U.S. Department of State event and the awards ceremony. Attire for the opening reception and the Potomac River dinner cruise is business casual. Casual attire, especially comfortable walking shoes, may be worn on the tours.
