Linda Bollman has been teaching mathematics for nine years at Bridgetown Middle School in the Oak Hills Local School District in Cincinnati, OH. Her teaching career began 15 years ago with the Milford Exempted Village School District. She holds certification in secondary mathematics grades 7–12 and National Board Certification in early adolescence mathematics.
Ms. Bollman works with passion and purpose to help her students develop deep understandings about mathematics and its applications in their lives. Her results are astounding, with her students always scoring above average on proficiency tests. Among district administrators, her consistent results for high levels of achievement have been termed the “Bollman Effect.”
Ms. Bollman is praised for her innovative teaching techniques, high-level questioning, differentiation, rapport with students, and love for mathematics. Students flourish in her classroom. Outside the classroom, she provides students with the opportunity to get more involved in mathematics through Lego League, Math Counts, and the Math Club.
Ms. Bollman’s list of honors and recognition includes the George B. Chapman Award for Excellence in Mathematics Education, Governor’s Educational Leadership Award, and Bridgetown Middle School PTA Teacher of the Year.
A member of the Ohio Department of Education Eighth-Grade Achievement Test Content Advisory Committee, Ms. Bollman is also a member of the Effective Schools Building Leadership Team and is an eighth-grade team leader and entry‑year teacher mentor. She is an instructional leader for the Activities Integrating Math and Science (AIMS) Education Foundation. She has been the Southwest District Director for the Ohio Council of Teachers of Mathematics and is Mathematics Competition Director for the County Council of Teachers of Mathematics. Ms. Bollman has a B.S. in education (cum laude) from Miami University and an M.Ed. in secondary math education from Xavier University.
