Keleigh Denise Hague-Bechard teaches general and AP biology at Capital High School in Boise, ID. Mrs. Hague-Bechard has taught in the Boise school district for four years; prior to that time she taught for sixteen years in other school districts in Idaho. She has also worked in an administrative role for a science journal, as a researcher, and as a marine mammal technician.
Mrs. Hague-Bechard is highly respected by students, parents, and faculty for her ability to teach difficult concepts and achieve a mastery level of comprehension. Since she joined Capital High School four years ago, the number of AP biology classes has doubled. She provides a positive atmosphere for learning and equal concern for all students while working to bring modern technology and research methods into the classroom. She has her own Web site for students to obtain notes, quizzes, and the course calendar. In addition to encouraging analytical thinking, Mrs. Hague-Bechard also seeks to improve students' writing skills. Her colleagues consider her a positive role model for students, staff, and the community as well as an advocate for children and teachers.
Mrs. Hague-Bechard received the Siemens Foundation Advanced Placement Teacher of the Year award for Idaho. She has also been honored as the Boise Rotary Club Teacher of the Month and as the influential teacher for a Boise Rotary Century Scholar.
Mrs. Hague-Bechard holds National Board Certification in adolescent and young adulthood science. She has a B.S. and an M.A. in biology from Boise State University.
