Jennifer Ann Terry

Jennifer Terry has 12 years of experience in teaching and has taught eighth-grade mathematics for the past three years at North Oldham Middle School (NOMS) in Goshen, KY. Ms. Terry holds certifications in middle level mathematics and science and is a National Board Certified Teacher.

Ms. Terry is considered a consummate educator, providing opportunities for all students to achieve at high levels. Colleagues and parents alike praise her leadership and teaching skills, and first-year teachers appreciate her mentoring, assistance, and support. Ms. Terry is described as having a laser-like focus on the design and implementation of the curricula with the differentiation necessary to ensure student achievement. She is esteemed for her intellect, dedication to her profession, and passion for working with middle-school children.

Ms. Terry’s professional service record is outstanding, ranging from membership on the Oldham County Mathematics Curriculum Committee to three NOMS assignments: mathematics content leader, team leader, and Y-Club sponsor. She has also participated in many professional development activities, including technology workshops for Multimedia Projector/Intelligent Classroom and formative assessment for mathematics. She was selected to be on the State assessment team, which included writing both diagnostic and end of course assessments for Algebra I. She has also presented workshops at the Kentucky Council of Teaching Mathematics (KCTM) Conference.

Selected for the Contextual Teaching Workshop in 2006, she has been a State finalist for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching and a finalist for the EXCEL Award.

Ms. Terry has a B.A. in middle school education with a specialization in science and mathematics from the University of Kentucky and a Master in Secondary Education from Indiana University.
