Jeffrey Harold Mosby teaches ninth-grade physical science and pre-AP physical science at Ramsey Junior High in Fort Smith, AR. He has been in his current position for four years. He has served as the ninth-grade Science Bowl coach, the school’s science fair coordinator, a member of the Fort Smith School District technology curriculum committee, and a National Board Mentor in the school district. He is a teacher leader for the Boosting Engineering Science and Technology program. Mr. Mosby has also been a member of the Fort Smith and Northwest Arkansas Science Review Committee for the Science Fair.
Mr. Mosby is known for bringing state-of-the-art technology into the classroom. He has contributed to the science curriculum within the school and district. Mr. Mosby exhibits a caring attitude toward his students and is creative and innovative in his teaching methods while meeting state science standards. Students consider him a mentor and admired role model. Mr. Mosby teaches his students about respect, working together and helping one another, responsibility, honesty, and integrity. He organized a Weather Worries program for students and the public, in which experts from around the State came to discuss types of severe weather that affect the Fort Smith area.
Mr. Mosby has received awards such as Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year, Arkansas Wal Mart Teacher of the Year, and the Arkansas Science Teachers Association Outstanding Award in Science.
Mr. Mosby holds National Board Certification as well as certification in general science, life and earth, chemistry, physics, AP physics, and pre-AP physical science. He has a B.S. in secondary education, biology, and general science from Arkansas Tech University.
