Jeffrey A. Wright teaches at the Louisville Male Traditional High School in Louisville, KY. Mr. Wright teaches integrated science, general physics, and AP physics. He has seventeen years of teaching experience, serving nine years in his current position. He is faculty sponsor of the National Honor Society and Astronomy Club. Mr. Wright is the Academic Coordinator and Academic Team coach. He is a Kentucky Teacher Internship Program resource teacher and a National Board Certification mentor teacher.
Mr. Wright is known as a teacher who knows how to relate to students, knows instruction, works well with colleagues, and continues to grow professionally. Students make an extra effort to attend his special sessions, such as the astronomy project held at 6 a.m.; the students appreciate his efforts to bring real-life activities and materials into the lesson plans. He is known for helping advanced and less-skilled students understand and appreciate the class content. Other teachers, school administrators, and students all give him high marks in the areas of inspiration, sharing, and dedication.
Mr. Wright has received the Bellarmine University Distinguished Alumni Award, Aegon Teacher Award, Best Buy Teacher Award, Kentucky Teacher of the Year, Amgen Award for Science Teaching Excellence, Disney Teacher National Award Winner, University of Chicago Outstanding Teacher Award, Superintendent of Jefferson County Public Schools Golden Apple Award, and the Jefferson County Teachers Association Schoolhouse Award.
Mr. Wright holds certification from the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards in physics, biology, chemistry, and education administration. He has a B.A. from Bellarmine University and an M.A.T. (with chemistry and physics minors) and Ed.S. from the University of Louisville.
