Amanda McKee has been teaching mathematics for eighteen years, including the past two years at Johnsonville High School in Johnsonville, SC. She holds certifications in secondary mathematics and middle level mathematics and is a National Board Certified Teacher. Her courses include Geometry Honors, Algebra 1 CP, and Math for the Technologies 1. Ms. McKee is a member of the Academic Challenge Committee and Math Team Committee.
Highly respected by her peers and the parents of her students, Ms. McKee is considered an asset to the school and community. She is praised for her knowledge of mathematics and her excellence in teaching as well as her hard work in providing an array of educational opportunities for her students.
Colleagues acknowledge her contributions in the classroom and her work as the coach for the Mock Trial Team. In its second year the team won at the regional level and placed fifth in the State competition. Ms. McKee was cited for her positive impact in the community for instilling in team members a deeper sense of responsibility.
Ms. McKee has participated in professional development activities such as Graphing Calculator Workshops and Plato Lab Training. She has also attended various South Carolina middle school conferences and was a member of the ETV Online Class and Pee Dee Algebra Classroom.
A runner-up for Johnsonville High School Teacher of the Year in 2007, she has been listed in Who’s Who Among High School Teachers.
Ms. McKee has a B.S. in secondary education and has completed more than 24 hours of graduate-level study in education, technology, and mathematics.
